The mistake is the use of an adjective instead an adverb:

I am asking you as nicely as I possible can to explain what the problem is.
Quote:
I am asking you as nicely as I possibly can to explain what the problem is.
In addition, the sentence is a lot easier to understand with commas added:

I am asking you as nicely as I possibly can to explain what the problem is.
Quote:
I am asking you, as nicely as I possibly can, to explain what the problem is.
