They're interesting, but definitely more science than art imo.
A *great* artist along these lines would be Damien Hirst (his earlier stuff anyways):

Great names too, like
The Physical Impossibility of Death in the Mind of Someone Living, and
Isolated Elements Swimming in the Same Direction for the Purposes of Understanding.
