In my year 12, I did:

1 unit General Studies (compulsory);
3 unit Maths;
3 unit Modern History;
3 unit Ancient History;
3 unit Latin;
2 unit English (Advanced);

In the NSW HSC system, 3 unit courses used to mean that you did an extra two hours outside of normal class hours per week. Latin was the lunch-hour on Wednesday, and 8am Friday; Ancient was two hours after school on Wednesday, and Modern was two hours after school on Monday (3U Maths was integrated into the normal cycle). So I had the normal school day from 9–3:30, minus the frees from dropping Chem at the end of year 11 (7 50 minute frees per 8-day cycle), plus around 6 hours a week.

We did get tea and biscuits for the 3U classes though, until the kitchen realised what we were doing and put a stop to it (bastards).

I did get a double free in the afternoon on Day 5, which I generally spent playing pool with my mates in the Year 12 common room. Happy days.
