I think this is the way I'll go.
I was trying to think of a way to swap badges with relative ease and magnets hadn't yet crossed my mind. Perfect! Sure, vandals could also steal the custom badge with ease, but the way I'd make these would be cheap and simple to recreate should one disappear.
I'll take a pic tomorrow with a Happy Mac mockup.
