You know damn good and well this wouldn't have happened 10 years ago, because it was pre-Twitter/Kardashian, and we'd not yet passed that threshold where "some things are just better kept private/left unsaid"...
If he'd said it on Oprah, the sweater-draped housewives in attendance would've surely given him a tearful standing ovation for his courage and openness.
