The proof of purchase thing is retarded whichever way you look at it.
It's simply part of PR double talk associtated with M$ trying to expand / hang on to market share.
Whilst they are legally in the right I am not sure they are morally inthe right anymore. They produce a sub-standard product and have a monopoly.
I, for one, am so glad that the death nell to this madness is already sounding.
