Everything about that sentence is translated into “I know I never will see this movie” once it hits my ears. Because it’s almost always one of my more pretentious, weird-ass friends pushing it.
As for
The Fifth Element, it’s just so…weird.
And I’m a huge Coen Brothers fan, so I’m certainly not weird-averse. And it’s not because my tastes are dude/bro-heavy. I’ve watched - voluntarily, on purpose - my share of Merchant Ivory fare, so my tastes are pretty open and varied.
Some day I’ll sit down with some chips and guac, a few beers and power through it.
