I do love B&W shots, although sometimes I'm not sure whether it's actually the qualities of the photograph (framing, composition, etc) or more the nostalgia aspect of it. I feel like almost every color photograph I take seemingly ends up looking better in B&W, which is kind of weird. I think it's an interesting discussion to have whether color or B&W "masks" or can make up for a photographer's lack of skills. I originally thought that was the case for color, but as I grow older, I'm not so sure.

For example, the shot PB took of the leaf a few posts above...I don't find it that interesting to be honest. I'm imagining if it was color, it would in fact, look quite ordinary. But make it B&W and all of a sudden, whoa, it's kind of neat. Sometimes, I look at B&W shots, and I think about what the photographer was trying to hide, not what he should be trying to expose. (Because I've done the same thing with my bad shots from time to time.) You know?

Sorry for the rant.
