Unfortunately, Apple won't sell us the battery until we have a repair scheduled through GSX.

Honestly, their thinking is that a customer will foul up the install (which happens) and then blame/sue Apple for their mistake (which happens) so the condition of our service contract with Apple says we cannot sell Apple service parts to the customer unless we install it. End of story, and failure to comply results in our service department getting the kaputzka!
