Perhaps so, but consider the following phrases:

"Choose either one or other" <== XOR (the "either" makes it exclusive)
"Choose one of the following..." <== XOR
"Choose one or other" <== ambiguous; doesn't seem that it should imply it's XOR (at least IMHO).
"Choose any of those" <== implies OR

It seems to me that we already make XOR explicit as is the case with first two phrases but assume XOR in the penultimate phrase.

Oh, well. Just wondering.
