Trump appointed FBI director at that. It's got to be bigger than just withholding classified documents from the National Archives. The warrant will leak (or Trump could just release it) soon enough.
I'm not sure who put out this talking point that this happened to 'prevent Trump from running again' - that is the absolute best thing that could happen for Democrats.
