That would put Apple in a tight spot. They would have to keep the entry level iMac weaker than needs be, to keep the more profitable higher models moving out the door. If the new Apple chips aren’t at least 25% faster it would be a tough sell, since the current gen i5 in that space is 25% faster than the 7th gen in there now.
