UBS4 is just USB3 refresh, and if you have a modern Mac with thunderbolt baked in already it’s not different at all. So you are right, nothing to get excited about.
As for 8k, we’ll see. It might depend on Apple’s choice of GPU. Do they go it on their own or stay with AMD? Do they focus on power saving or raw compute power and such.
