Communal HV solar array plant somewhere in (or just outside) town, with underground glass fiber cables for power distribution? People could setup their own MFEs or MFSUs so they'll still have power during the night or bad weather.
We could always go nuclear, too.
Build a reactor far enough out that the town is outside of blast range (or just encase it in a metric asston of reinforced stone), and just run some cabling to a substation in town that everyone can branch off from.
