I'd go as high as $1499 if it had some "pro" features (Core Duo, if that is considered a "pro" feature, and Gigabit ethernet are the two that come to mind) but retained the iBook's polycarbonite shell. C'mon Apple! (Getting hopes up only to have them dashed)
