Probably.
Hollywood is all about topping itself, rebooting things for "newer generations" (I hear Orcs wear skinny jeans and take part in Tiktok challenges) and raking in that $$$.
If this is a rehash/remake/"reimagining" (my favorite) of those Jackson movies, that's just...sad. But, it has been 20 years now, so...for people with the attention span of a firefly, that may as well be 50+ years.
How many people have played a rebooted/reset Batman in that same period?
