Did it ever occur to you that the Apple Store didn't have anything but stock-model powerbooks to give you? That there was no way to replace your custom-built model without ordering another custom-built one to replace it?

If anything, you should be very grateful that the Genius was nice enough to put in so much extra effort on your behalf.
