After spending a summer floating in the Persian Gulf I can assure you that high temps are relative.
My deployment was March through September, to the Gulf. Misery outside. True hell on Earth. In August the water temp is in the 90s. That isn't even the surface air temps! I don't recall exactly what it was, but they said it was around 140 on the yardarm of the ship.
Yesterday was cooler than Monday. Today is shaping up to be a scorcher though. Almost noon and it is 95.8 right now and climbing.
