It would, and such a thing strikes me as distinctly possible. If a "D400" never materialises (given the capable D7000), and its expected price-point is covered instead by a low-end full-frame body, that camera might well look and feel much like a D7000. Consider also the MB-D11 grip: similar in many ways to the
innovative MB-D10, and thus expensive and arguably a little over the top for the D7000 alone. But just right if shared with a more expensive camera...
