Having it on odd years would just be so... odd. Just from what I'm use to and have come to expect. I don't care much for moving them, that could screw up the other large soccer tournaments too. Like the UEFA cup. You have to remember that within the sport itself everything is spaced out appropriately. Because many qualifying matches revolve around league schedules it takes a bit of time to get everyone qualified and ready. Moving everything around would be a headache, but not impossible.
I just don't find the argument for moving it compelling enough. It doesn't interfear with the winter olympics. It's not like atheletes have to be in two places at once.
