Me? Jameson 12 year distillery reserve. This particular variety is available only at the Jameson and Old Middleton distilleries in Ireland, where I bought this bottle last March, three days after I proposed to my wife. I paid a lot for that bottle of whiskey, but I am not sorry for it; it was well worth the price (about 50€, if I remember correctly, which included a personalized label). My liquor cabinet also holds a bottle of Glenfiddich 12 year. I may be poor, but I have good whiskey

Right at this moment? Well I'm at work so it's only the cheap stuff. But at home i have two bottles at the moment. One is Ballantine's Finest Scotch Whisky, and the other is Wild Turkey. Not the most expensive that's for sure. But i wouldn't know a good whiskey if it got drunk, got nude and rolled around on the floor in front of me.

Right now, I'm drinking my morning coffee without whisky.
I like whiskys from the Isle of Islay. Our favorite is Bowmore Legend (as it has a good price/taste ratio). We currently also have a house malt Islay. Other whiskys we recently tried: Ardbeg Ten, Laphroaig.

At the present I have a bottle of 16 year old Lagavulin and a 18 year old Glenmorangie in my cabinet. Two of my favorites.

Me too (minus the Ardbeg Ten, which I've never tried).

Definitely Laphroaig. Ardbeg's not bad but just not quite as peaty. Try a Laphroaig thirty if you can get it.

Three open at the moment:

Glenfiddich 21 yr, gran reserva
Glengoyne Single cask, vintage madeira finish (LE)
Talisker 18 yr

they are all good IMO, talisker ranking a bit below the others.

My old scotch cabinet back in Canada had:

Macallan Cask Strength
GlenGoyne 21
Jura Superstition (mix of 13 and 21yr old) - very peaty
A few last drops of Dalwhinnie 1980
Some other gems... now adopted by a friend in an appreciative home.

At the moment I have some drinking Aberlour 10, and in the 'special' category... a bottle of this that I haven't opened yet... testing myself.

At the moment partaking in some Bruichladdich (brook-laddie) 10 YO which is more restrained than most Islay malts.

A nice drop, but I will admit to still having a liking for the Aberlour A'bunadh.

Cold weather is becoming more the norm where I reside, and I am looking forward to a good season of whisk[e]y hunting. Might have to splash out on a few (or ten) good malts to help me through the winter!

Me: Woodford Reserve
Mrs. Edna Crabtree: Maker's Mark

And I do mean right now. What with the big race coming up, it just seems like we have to drink what comes natural...

I noticed this thread and grabbed my flask filled with Elijah Craig. If you like bourbon, buy a case. It is so smooth.

IMHO it is not nearly cold enough for anything from the Islay region. When it is cold, nothing keeps you warmer. Not even pants.

Royal Salute 38 years old Stone of Destiny....

*smirks* I wish. As a lowly student whatever's available is good for me (generally speaking tequila and vodaka are more common sadly)

I have three on the fly at the moment.

Laphroiag 10YO
Caol Ila 12YO
The Balvenie DoubleWood 12YO

Of the three the Caol Ila is my favourite.

Given the crappy weather where I live I might add a few more malts to my collection in the next few weeks - my excuse is product knowledge, my reason is I like malts!!

Just gotten back from a whisky tasting:

Glenfiddoch single malts.

Starting with the 12, to the Solera 15, then the 18 and the 21 YO. To finish the night, what better way to end than the 30 and the not for sale 40 YO old.

Sucks to be me

Redbreast 12yr is probably my favorite current whiskey under $50/750mL. It's a pure pot still Irish whiskey distilled at the Jameson/Midleton facility. It's very smooth on the palate, but once it goes down it gives you a slight kick like a rye whiskey would.

Yuck! Haha. Most people I know that drink Jack do it just to get drunk.

Well that's a good point. But I can't drink Jack straight, lets just say it has left unsettling memories behind. But I think there's a line between getting drunk (as in wasted) and having a couple drinks to enjoy and relax.

I'm working on a bottle of Makers Mark right now, nothing too fancy either. Admittedly.

Raised a couple of large Macallan 18s for A Small Step and Giant Leap last night.

Thanks for epic inspiration.
