But wait… he's not done yet!

Now I'd also fixed the random sand and red sand states so they don't randomize, fixed the broken totem of undying data, added a better blue ice (from the old Painterly pack), and created new stripped log tops and sides that should better match our existing "regular" log tops.

How do you feel about those stripped textures? Originally I was thinking they should match closer to the planks, but the slightly faded look for some of them is kind of growing on me.

Anyhow, the aforementioned zip is staying updated as I make changes, and if you still see anything else that still seems out of place or needing attention, just let me know.

The stripped logs look great imo. They're going to make for some neat floor patterns and walls.

Excited to get back in and play with this. I finally had time to reconfigure my Windows box to allow me to play comfortably again.

That massive project out to the west is still daunting though.

So wat you think boys? OptiFine pre4 seems stable enough, 1.13.1 is working nicely, Brad's pack is solid... can we forecast a date at all? A day or so heads-up would be nice so we could unload any personal loot + ender chest into temp storage.

I may do a new trim map too if we're going to a new seed (which seems likely) – I'll want to keep some of the current Eastern ocean just in case.

So it goes.

I can make this happen though I would rather Brad do it again. I think I recall how to use the trim script but not sure. I think last time I actually just deleted chunks manually.

Ya, and I think Brad wanted to fiddle with some of the files... but maybe that's not necessary if we go to a new seed. It would be nice if we could lose the Map numbers. I think we're up to 900-ish now and they all go blank with a new seed anyways. It'd be nice to reset back to 01.

So it goes.

If by "new seed" you mean "new world" THAT would be quite an adventure!

Actually, I'm going to reverse my request to trim the ocean near the museum. With a new seed there's no guarantees and I really need ocean out there. So, just Ken's requests:

Brad's last post was nigh on 2 months ago... does it warrant a PM? I hate to bug.

I can take this off your hands if you like... I'll just need the region, DIM & DIM-1 folders (I may need to get you new ftp info though). I'm definitely anal enough for that task, plus I'll trim the nether and the end out to (-)1536 in every direction so a new seed can take hold there while keeping our end portals intact.

You'd still need to start a new 1.12.2 world, replace the .mca files and then upgrade the world to 1.13. But I could take the fiddly stuff out of your hair.

So it goes.

Did you PM Brad? He needs a PM for this.

I can see about making it happen if Brad doesn't step in. It will be later in the week. I'm going to have some free time next week since I'm taking it off work.

Sorry, I didn't mean to ghost out for half an eternity again. The last couple of months have been kind of cray, and they last couple of days have been…

…in case you haven't heard about my employer.

Regardless, Minecraft! That's always fun! I'm actually taking some PTO this Thursday and Friday and am kind of in dire need of some stay-at-home distractions. I'm overdue to update our world-reaping script so we can do that big upgrade jump. Is that what we're talking about here, right?

I can't help but keep watching the dumpster loop.

Yes for the updates. We are all ready... not that's I've even logged into the server in a while. My job has been keeping me hopping.

Yes, reap away!

I have one additional land ask (noted in +green below), but this should be the final if Ken still wants all his southern squares wiped:

Also, what do you think about trimming out the End & Nether at (+/-)1536? It would clean up a lot of the seed-jumping-cliffs that abound in those dimensions.

So it goes.

I have been watching old seasons of Mindcrack UHC and mourning the fact that change is the only constant in this universe because I really did enjoy that series so much.

I don't have time to even play in my own personal world right now but if there's ever a group adventure night in a bare world or something I'll do my best to play, even though I have not mastered shield techniques and don't know half the new mobs.

I just talked to Ken, and he is okay with the plan!

He asks only for 24 hours advance notice so he can empty his pockets and hide in a Brad-proof obsidian box until it is all over with.

I missed out on fiddling with the world files today, but I'm about to get crackin' on that now! I'll post updates here before I shut anything down.

ninja edit: also, map image from 709 is duly noted! That will be my guide.
