Ruh roh!

You know, as I was watching that speech, I was thinking that McCain looked really awkward and out of place there, but then I learned that it was because of injuries he got when he was a POW that prevent him from moving his arms very far up and I felt bad. Even though I don't want him as president, I hope people don't judge him by his seemingly stiff movement.

Or his lumpy jaw.

Meantime, I feel an apology to beer-loving Americans everywhere is in order.

This is where the press should start having fun with him...

P: "So you maybe have an issue with people drinking too much beer in this country... alcoholism?"

M: "No, no... I love beer!"

P: "So you're saying you drink a lot of beer then... would you say it's a dangerous amount?"

M: "No I mean I love the taste of a good beer, like many of my fellow Americans. I only have a few."

P: "Alcoholics Anonymous says one of the warning signs of addiction is claiming that the person has only "had a few"... do you agree with this?"

M: "Uh... yes... well, no... I mean..."

McCain reminded me of Bush in that video. No passion or emotion or anything. Just a puppet with a boom box under the podium. When they clapped he looked like a deer in the headlights.

Converted 07/2005.

Clearly he was preoccupied with his post-speech plans.

What kind of person shuns beer after a speech? Something is wrong. His programming is all off. Manchurian candidate gone haywire. "Reprogram, reprogram! He's supposed to LIKE beer!"

OMG,
He's going to have to reverse this stance to win back my vote!

I love the way the crowd starts to chuckle at the gaffe and the way he quickly goes for the prop in the pocket to say "you will know their names".... it looks like an intentional ploy to divert people from noticing his mistake!!

And is he going to sign all the legislation into law with a Sharpie?

Still, truth be known, if you look at McCain's record over the years, he's been quite a ballbuster for jackass pork barrel legislators... quite the defender of responsible government.

All except that vetoing beer thing....

Steve Jobs ate my cat's watermelon.

Yah one thing I would say about McCain is he does have balls when it comes to spending issues. Too bad he drinks O'Dools.

To be honest, I have my doubt that McCain is all what he claims to be. A case in point: He went against his own bill which passed- McCain-Feingold act by breaking the spending cap as he had applied for public funding. Now, he didn't actually use any, and therefore claimed that he could withdraw. That's fine, as Dean did the same thing, except that he did get a letter from FEC chairman saying that they had to get approval from the FEC. You see, unlike Dean, McCain took out two loans using the promise of public financing as collateral and because of this, FEC committee wanted to review the matters before giving him OK to bailout (and thus spend as much as he may). He didn't bother to wait around or ensure that there would be a quorum for FEC approval and went over the spending cap. At least Dean made sure he got the OK before proceeding so. The punishment is five years of imprisonment and heavy fines. Now it can be argued that it's no big deal because he didn't actually use any actual funding. Fine, but he got ballot access to some states by bypassing the petitioning and just demonstrating that he had public financing. Never bothered to petition just in case.

All in all, this paint a picture of man who likes to talk big but will squirm out of any sticky situation. In short, he's just another politician.
