Any MBP owners here having problem with the AirPort? It disconnects itself quite frequently, especially when idle.
At first I thought maybe it shuts down itself to save battery, I thought it's an energy saver feature, but there is no such option there to turn it off, and I left my computer on all night last night, it didn't disconnect itself. So, it happens randomly. I never had this problem with my iBook. Any MBP owners here also have this problem? |

Mine too. Many times it has disconnected with no reason, even when the powerbook next to it had a stable connection.

no problems here either...actually I have never had a computer connect so easily...especially to some notoriously difficult wi-fi spots.
This is not meant to be a dck comment...just that not all MBP suffer from this. Good Luck. |

Change the channel you are using.
It sounds like you are dropping connections due to interference from other networks. Night = less use by others... |

You would have to change the wireless channel using the router's configuration program. What brand of router are you using at the moment?

If this really is a problem it's probably a result of the MBP using Intel's 802.11a/b/g chipset instead of Broadcom's which all previous Apple products used. I've come to expect dropouts when mixing Atheros, Intersil, Broadcom, Intel, TI, etc. based WiFi technology...
