Folks,
My 500MHz Tibook appears to have bitten the dust. I got it out of storage (currently using an Albook) and discovered that nothing will make it start: I've tried swapping power blocks, removing the RAM, pressing the reset on the back. Nothing. Zilch. No sound, no lights, no fan, no HDD. Any suggestions before I give up and flog it on eBay as a dead 'un? Cheers Toby |

reseting the PMU has been know to resurrect unresponsive powerbooks (and it once did for me). I'm pretty sure on the 500 it's the small button on the back among the ports, but if not then it's the small button under the keyboard at the far top right. Press the button for a few seconds, wait 5 or 10 seconds, then try turning it on.

Thanks for the tip, but no joy on the reset button. I'm a bit lost at what could have gone wrong, since it's simply been on the shelf - no knocks, no power connected. Oh well....

Unfortunately yes - I've tried it on different PSUs, no joy at all

Yup, but I'm in the UK - I assume you're in the US?

Canada... shipping wouldn't be too bad, they should give a discount for the commonwealth
