On average, how much data do you use per month on your iPhone.

Choices are:

<100MB - Unlimited Plan
100 to 200MB - Unlimited Plan
200 to 500MB - Unlimited Plan
500MB to 1GB - Unlimited Plan
1 to 2GB - Unlimited Plan
>2GB - Unlimited Plan

<50MB - Capped Plan
50 to 100MB - Capped Plan
100 to 200MB - Capped Plan
200 to 500MB - Capped Plan
>500MB - Capped Plan (do they even go this high?)

Please state what carrier you're on.
Also, for a capped plan, please state what your limit is.

I'll start...

I thought this would make an interesting comparison:

According to Entner, the average iPhone user eats up around 400 megabytes of capacity each month. Average smartphone usage is 40 to 80 megabytes.

I've had an iPhone for 1 month and 20 days and the "Cellular Network Data" section in the Settings app tells me:

Sent 12.9 MB
Received 137 MB

Of course, I'm almost always near a WiFi connection.

We are actually on hourly packages in Thailand. So the poll doesn't work for me at all! It's something which I've never quite understood as it's in theory an "always on" connection.. but I am assuming we just have to trust the network to time the actual time that data transfer is occurring over. The upshot of that is that if the connection is slow we get charged for more time, but less data!!

Then there was the weirdness when the 3G first launched here and I ended up with 700+ hour bills, on a 50 hour package, before I beat the shit verbally out of educated the "techs" at my phone company.

Normally, my phone will use about 50 hours each month (according to my bill), which costs me a grand total of $4!

As for data transfer my iPhone actually tells me that since the 26/09/2008 I have sent 9.6MB and received 53.1MB over the cellular networks.

I have no idea on Wifi, but like Brad I am always near a Wifi connection, and the iPhone even hops from one to the next in cabs in Bangkok quite efficiently.

Around 250MB a month, but that's because I'm not in classrooms/student centers leeching wifi anymore. When I had wifi it was closer to 50MB a month. I'm expecting it to go back down when school starts.

I've had an iPhone for 6 months, and I've sent 66MB and received 335MB in total. I must use wifi more than I imagined.

Since 9/10/2008, I've sent 117 MB and received 1.2 GB.

That's on my iPhone 3G. I don't really use too much data, but I've been using more and more since upgrading to the 3G.

Very interesting. Is there an unlimited plan, how much is it?
