So... I have two WMV videos that are over ten minutes, and I need to upload them to YouTube. Well YouTube now applies the ten minute limit even to Director accounts, so I need to split it.
Is there any way to do this without killing making the quality worse? I tried exporting from QuickTime Pro with Flip4Mac, but since I only have the free version of Flip4Mac, it put a big watermark over the output video. |

You could convert it from .wmv to .mp4 using iSquint (which is free). I've done this many times lately and the quality loss doesn't seem significant. (I believe you can split the resulting .mp4 files from within iTunes simply by adjusting the start/stop points and exporting a copy.)
That said, I believe YouTube tends to recommend against .wmv in the first place, let alone posting videos that have been converted from .wmv, so YMMV. |

Doh, how did I not think of that. Thanks, I'll try that.
I've had pretty good luck with WMV+YouTube, so we'll see how that goes. |
