Apple is linking to a Juniper issued Visa iTunes Reward Card.
http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPL...a&mco=4D7CCADE
This is NOT good enough. Please, Steve Jobs will you issue an Apple branded Visa Reward Card that looks Apple-esque and earns credit toward ALL Apple Store products. Enhance the appearance of our plastic in a way we know only Apple can do. Why share logos with a nondescript bank. Stop pussy footing around. PLEASE!

Don't link to Apple Store. Sessions don't work.

That said, I disagree. If shopowners are too busy looking at the design of you card, it opens it up to fraud. The most successful card fraud is by people using designs with puppies etc. to distract from the card details.

So, right now, Mac-dom wants to see:

• Media Center PC
• Headless Mac
• Tablet
• iPhone
• Real Video iPod
• Gaming Machine
• Ultraportable Notebook

And now a credit card? Aren't we already asking enough of Apple?

The link doesn't have a session ID. AN's forum software truncated it. Here you go.

Well, if they release all that other shit, we have to have some way to buy it!

Here's an example of an Apple-esque styled money clip and credit card.

Pretty sweet isn't it? Can any of you find other images?

I know they're not used much these days, but would a card like that - with the funky vertical lettering and non-standard placement - work with those older swipe/impression receipt machines? I actually encountered one a month ago at a locksmith shop, so I know they're still out there. She put my card in that rack, placed a triplicate receipt thingie on top of it, slid the handle and a carbon impression was made and the info was filled out manually.

I was stunned because it's been a while since I've seen that approach.

I guess if one is hip and stylish enough to have a card from Apple, they're probably not going to be the type to frequent crusty old "mom and pop" establishments where they still use such quaint, outdated money-taking technology?

"Ah'd like a bottle of orange pop, some hair pomade and one of them there handsome white lap computers you have in yon window display, if you please."

Maybe the problem/question solves itself...

Paul, I think a lot of places still keep those machines for backup in case their credit card or POS systems go down. I know we had one at my store when I was with RadioShack. I never had to use it for a customer, but I had to learn how just in case.

I used a swiper at my old job working at the farmer's market. No phone line.

Mainly it was full of rich yuppies who think it's cool to pay $2 / lb for organic apples. Definitely within Apple's demographic...

You had me at asl

That's really clever - a credit card that doubles as a money clip. I see no reason why it wouldn't work as long as it still had the magnetic strip and kept the credit card's shape and dimensions intact.

and i guess i've known it all along / the truth is, you have to be soft to be strong
