Ok, it's that time of year again. Time to switch cell providers! Woo hoo! I just got myself a Nokia 6230 on Cingular from amazon. I got a good deal on it and only a one year contract. I need to get my wife a GSM phone too so we can get on a family plan. Unfortunately the one-year cingular contract market appears to have dried up. :/ I won't do a two-year deal, so I was hoping to leech off my fellow AN'ers.
My wife doesn't need a snazzy phone (she even told me that something like bluetooth in the phone is a negative in her book - I think it's a reaction to my need to have the latest and greatest, but I disgress). She had a Nokia 8260 that she LOVED but it's TDMA and won't work with Cingular. Something like that would be great. If any of you have a GSM phone lying around that you're not using and gets decent reception and you'd like to donate it to the family-harmony-for-torifile fund, please email me. I'd be willing to pay a few $ too. Of course, I'd cover shipping.... It's a long shot, but what's begging among friends, right? |

I've got a slightly worn, but fully functional Nokia 6310i sitting in a drawer. Will that work?

As much I'd *love* that phone that SKMDC posted, I can't take it.
Thanks for the offers but we got an SE 226 for free because we got a family plan at Sam's. It's not the greatest phone but she likes it ok. |

My oldest Nokia was awesome, totally looked like a Motorola walkie. I couldn't walk through a Home Depot without getting asked where things were. I was invited on a company picnic for most accidental sales by a customer...
