I bought some more Mildred Swainbury's Doubloon & Sword Polishing Compound this week and the reseller had a pop-up encouraging me to use Honey, the browser extension now owned by PayPal and decried as a security risk by Amazon.

I'm curious to know how many of you are using (or have considered using) this discount/coupon finder, and how dangerous you believe it to be to your privacy, browser security, and general online safety.

Rum season is fast approaching and I wouldn't mind saving a groat or two.

I haven't looked at it at all but it sounds like cart blanche access to your browsing. There is no way I would trust a browser extension even in the name of a deal. You are totally the product they make money off of in those cases.

Their web site reads like a PR artist wrote it and that is just me skimming. I have a hard time believing it is safe though.

Catch some buys with Honey™.

Lather on the savings.

It's all the buzz.
