So my new iPod classic shows the title and artist of my now playing song on my main menu. However, above this information, it only shows the music note which denotes no album artwork. On the main menu when it's showing this info on the right side, should it also have a picture of the cover art?

I ask only because the iPodwizard classic 5G hack shows the cover artwork.

It'll only show album artwork if you have set an image for the album in iTunes.

If you've been applying hacks though I wouldn't start going around saying the interface is faulty

No no no. I have an actual classic. I have album artwork for most of my albums. But on the home screen, I just get my song info with the music note above it. I'll show a pic.

But I do have album artwork for this song.

Same thing with my touch.

I think you have to add the artwork to each song... the artwork is probably on some songs but not others (hence the iPod displays it in album view, as it's what's available). Yet some individual songs may not have artwork.

Or something.

Yes I've seen this happen as well, on a G2 Nano and a G5 iPod, nothing new to see here. If not all the songs on the album have the artwork, this will happen.

No, they all have the artwork. This probably shouldn't be happening. Well, either that, or the people who designed the G5 Classic update were thinking something right.

You can set the iPod to sync album artwork. Perhaps you turned that option off? I don't have mine with me right now to explain exactly how to find that option, but it is an option.

It's on. And it's been on. I'm thinking this is an oversight on the part of Apple. Unless someone can verify that this does, in fact, work on their iPod.

I got the same on my 160GB Classic. I have manually scanned my album covers and added them to the ALAC files, so there should be no doubt about everything being fine.
Of course, as soon as you click the center button, the artwork is displayed, just not in the "now playing" box...

My iTunes has been doing this. I have album art for all of my albums, but none of it is showing up now.
