when making a smart folder there is the option to search files by "Musikverleih" which basically means something like Label in German.

Could it be we get a Label field in iTunes soon or is is just something from another app?

I really can't stand how I can't tag my mp3 files accordingly when it comes to Labels in iTunes. This feature can't be that hard to integrate no can it.

I'm not sure what you're talking about. I don't see any such option in iTunes, or in the Finder for that matter. Can you explain a bit more?

If you mean sort by color label in the Finder, that option is already there.

I think he's referring to music labels. I've wanted something like that too. It would be great to search through my music library for something like "Matador" or "V2."

I don't think that id3 tags support record labels, but you can put them in the comments field in iTunes. You can search by comments then.

yes that's what I meant. If you create a new smartfolder and click other when specifying by which criteria you want files to be put in there, you can choose Musikverlag.

On a side note is there a way to change the metadata of files in the Finder?

shoot, that's too bad. I am currently using the Genre field so I can browse files by Label more quickly.

Same solution as iTunes, must use the Comments field. We'd all like a database-indexed filesystem.
