My mom has asked me to transfer all the data on like 300-400 old 3.5" Floppies to a hard drive.

Is there way for me to automate this process with automator or applescript? Which is the one to use and why?

What I want is for it to do the following:

As soon as I pop in a new floppy disc I want it to create a new folder on the volume //volumes/STEINA/ with sequential numbering with the format DISC001, DISC002, etc for each disc and then copy the contents of that disc. Finally I want it to alert me when it's done copying and prompt me to put in another disc and loop
