Here's a weird one. Tonight my scroll bars in Safari 4 (10.5.7) keep disappearing. It's all different sites during normal web browsing and the only thing that fixes is it quitting Safari and restarting. I've repaired disk permissions and it's still happening. I have no idea what could be causing it. Any suggestions?

Only thing i can think of, try a fresh download of Safari from Apples web site.

I have had that happened but what would usually happen is if I opened a tab based on a certain links, and it pass some java or javascript to disable the scrollbar, and that tab would never get it back until I close the tab. Thus not really a Safari issue but shoddy website issue.
Is that same as what you are observing? |

No. This seems to be completely random. For example the last occurrence was after clicking to read a thread here, right before posting this.

Just happened again, on a different computer running the latest Safari 4 update that dropped a day or so ago:
(Safari compressed to show the that the scroll bars should be there.) |

I don't have any other screenshots to add at the moment, but I can confirm that I've had this bug occur on several occasions as well.

How very odd. I use Safari 4 as my primary browser and I don't think I've ever seen the scroll bars disappear incorrectly.
I have, however, in one very specific case seen the scroll bars of an inset div with overflow:auto incorrectly toggle to the "backgrounded" graphics. This happens occasionally with YouTube pages if I'm switching windows or apps while the video is loading. The quality of this board depends on the quality of the posts. I've had it happen quite often. I just close the tab and open a new one and it's fine.
