say they can double the speed of my iMac FP (and thus increase the useable lifespan of it) for 550 bucks... the question is, do you put 550 bucks into an older system or do you use the 550 bucks toward buying a new system? and do i really do anything since the current system is running fine g crazy is not a rare human condition everything is food if you chew hard enough |

I dunno...I've always like the iMac G4s, I think the adjustability of the screen is just great. I'd upgrade the old one.

Hmm, I have seen a refurbished iMac G5 on Apple's hot deals section or whatever it is called for 8 or 900 dollars. Maybe you should consider selling your iMac and getting that?

If it's running fine, let it run fine for another year or so. Than upgrade, use that $550 you didn't spend on it to upgrade to a newer machine. That's your best bet IMHO.

I'd say not worth it.
You would maximize your $$ by selling the old iMac on eBay for $600 or so and spending the upgrade $$ along with the eBay $$ on a newer model. |
