When I'm connecting on my co-worker PCs, I leave ._nameOfTheFileICopied everywhere. I know that with TinkerTool, I can disable the .DS_Store but what about all the others files. My friends are finding this kinda annoying

When it's the normal filename preceded by the dot-underscore, that file represents the resource fork of the associated file. You should only see these created for files you've saved yourself.
You generally don't want to lose the resource fork. In some older formats, it's essential to keep the resource fork. Some programs put data in the resource fork merely as a convenience, though, such as Graphic Converter putting preview images, icons, and other nonessential data there. Whatever program you are using that's creating those resource forks may have an option for disabling them. The quality of this board depends on the quality of the posts. The only way to guarantee thoughtful, informative discussion is to write thoughtful, informative posts. AppleNova is not a real-time chat forum. You have time to compose messages and edit them before and after posting. |
