Hey Guys, I just wanted to know how one would use an external wireless card. I bought a cheap 802.11b external card because in my classrooms at college there is wireless available but the signal is often weak and drops in and out when using my internal wireless card. However, a friend of mine (Wintel Laptop) with an external card picks up the networks with a good signal strength. So anyway, I pop in the card and it is recognized, a little icon appears for it near my battery icon. But, when I click it the only option I have is to power off the card. I tried going into my network settings and adding another network device, but wasn't able to specify an external wireless card. Can anyone offer some help?
