I picked up the recently released 1.67ghz model and attempted to upgrade using a Kingston 1GB 200-Pin DDR2 SO-DIMM DDR2 533 (PC2 4200) and experienced random freeze/crahes with my system.
Has anyone elsed experienced this with Kingston RAM in these systems? The RAM in my system now is currently rated at PC2 4200 (512MB). I see alot of people talking about Crucial RAM. Should I be looking at the Crucial CT12864AC53E DDR2 SO-DIMM DDR2 533 (PC2 4200)? |

I wondering if the freezing is occurring due to the mixed memory BRANDS. I've removed the stock 512MB chip that came with my PB and am now just running on the 1GB Kingston. Seems to be OK. Is there any way to stress test the system? I'm trying to open as many Apps and also copying my iTunes library over the network. All seems well.
Any suggestions for a memory stress test? |
