So what exactly is the time of the keynote on Monday? I am trying to plan my work schedule to be off when it starts. I am seeing 2-3:30 for "Mac OS X State of the union" on Monday. Is this the big keynote? If so, I s'pose I should be off work by 4 (CST). Woot!

No, the keynote is 10 AM PST. State of the union addresses are, well, state of the union addresses. Summarizing the state of one particular technology at Apple.

FWIW, it works in the current 2.0.4.
I said I just got online with my Mac like three days ago, so...never.

I would, but I'm putting it up on eBay tomorrow, and I don't really want to bother.

and i guess i've known it all along / the truth is, you have to be soft to be strong

Ok... So the timer isn't actually accurate -- that is, i have three safari windows open to AN and all three have different times displayed...

The timer is a crude JavaScript function that references your computer clock to start and then increments once every second. It's not going to be perfect.

Damn imperfection!

I figured that the script for it runs slower in non-active windows...

The counter is incorrect. The line:
Code:
TargetDate = "08/07/2006 9:00 AM PST";
Should instead read:
Code:
TargetDate = "08/07/2006 9:00 AM PDT";
California is currently observing Daylight Saving Time and as a result the counter is an hour off. This same error also exists in the PHP code from the predictions thread.

Cheers.

Thanks, Nugget. The JavaScript code should be fixed now!

It was for last time.

Maybe his Royal Bradness will grace us with it's presence again. But judging from the bitching that accompanies any minor change to the AN layout, I wouldn't hold your breath....

Can you not just google the date and write it down on your desk or something?

We have a winner.

Nobody complained about the lack of a winter-themed change this year. Not one.

Then let me be the first one to do so. I really, truly appreciate the work you put in themes, the countdown timer, and other customizations of yours, and I know, furthermore, that I am far from the only one. The vocalness of those who complain should not put you off, as it is highly disproportional with the actual percentage of people who have a problem with your work.

Huh?

I don't think so. We went to PST the same time everyone else went to standard time. You might be confused because this year was the first year the transition was pushed back 2 weeks. But CA is most definitely working on PST.

Brad, time to change it back! Care to dance?

You just quoted a post from August 2006, when Nugget's assertion was indeed accurate.

I see I did. I was wondering why I wasn't seeing the timer! A bit dyslexic on MWFS != WWDC too!

FWIW, I loved the Halloween theme. Brad, when you change the themes for events, it helps this place feel less like a message board and more like a little community.

I would have, but I wasn't really around to complain.
