Please learn to use correct punctuation, spelling, and for the love of pete...use the friggin shift key. Save me the trouble of trying to read this dribble, and of having to make fun of you for it. You're 15 years old, if you turned in a paper like that to one of your high school teachers you would automatically fail. So don't do it here either. Thanks

DMBand0026: If you like to use correct punctuation, shouldn't your first sentence end with a question mark?

Back on topic: Once I get my new 12-inch PowerBook, I will try to post my desktop here as well. 1024x768 on the internal LCD, and 1280x1024 on the external/desktop LCD. Yeah, baby!

Escher

I've been waiting for a true sub-PowerBook for more than 10 years. The 11-inch MacBook Air finally delivers on all counts! It beats the hell out of both my PowerBook 2400c and my 12-inch PowerBook G4 -- no contest whatsoever.

I did that once too....just made a 2x2 black and white checker board and had it tile. I got sick of it real fast, although it does have that good old System 6 feel. I also made a blue one for that AppleII feel.

The theme is JetBlack by Swiz, I modded the menu bar to be all black to blend in with the desktop picture. The font is redensek.

Booohooo. I wanted to be in Paris for the quatorze juillet too. At least LoCash put up a pretty French flag AN logo.

Nice shot, ZO. Did you hand-hold it or use a tripod? (My guess is handheld.)

One of these days I'll post a screenshot too...

So.....

I would post mine, but can anyone tell me why I can't display an image in my Public folder on my iDisk? Is there some other step other than just dropping it in the Public folder?

Thanks.

Drop it in the Pictures folder. Then, the url is http://homepage.mac.com/username/.Pictures/filename like with this fine example:

Even better, drop the image in the "Sites" folder on your iDisk and the URL will be shorter, like this:

homepage.mac.com/username/filename

I can't stand folders that start with a period/dot. Bothers the heck out of me.

pymol is a really awesome molecule viewer for looking at protein structures, modeling, and making what some would consider the best pictures of molecules out there...

its based on python and can take scripts...

its basically something that everyone who looks at proteins should (and does) use....

Edit: thanks, the picture is from a trail to mt. st. helens...

FYI, you don't need to fire up Grab.app to take snapshots of your screen. Mac OS X has several shortcuts:

apple-shift-3: capture screen to file
apple-shift-4: capture selection to file
apple-shift-4 then spacebar: capture window to file

Adding the control key to any of the above saves the image to the clipboard instead of a file.
