My cubicle colleague is bent upon playing Backstreet boys and the Ooom Bop song kids (Hampton brothers?... who cares) along with a smattering of Britney Spears and the odd rap song, while CONSTANTLY whistling or singing along. What has life come to? Is earning money really worth it? Sigh...

Good thing is that I am taking over a different job within the same org. so I will be moving offices on Friday!

How is the atmosphere where you guys n' gals work?

Here tonight, we have, ah, apple and orange. We all different, but in the end, we all fruit.

Hanson?

At least they had some talent compared to the others

They have actually gotten a bit better with older age as well.

I share an office with my boss and he plays one type of music all day every day.

Today was Old Phil Collins Day.

Tomorrow will probably be Lesser Known Elton John Day.

Then maybe Jazz Artist Who I've Never Heard Of Day. That's the only good day of the week.

That's "Hanson."

I'd do 'em. Well, the one on the right at least.

At least not for me.

Peter: No, he's actually a guy, Quagmire.
Quagmire: What? That's insane. That's impossible.
[Pause]

My boss makes me feel like I'm >that< close to getting canned each and every day. He tends to hang over you, micromanage, throw fits and ask for too much (unless I feel like working 18 hour days). Yeah, hatin' work these days. Awful environment.

Where's that old resume?

Wow, they all went and growed up.

I haven't seen them in years.

I'm not going to talk about my job unless the mods want to contact me about changing my username (which is something I've wanted to do for a long while anyway). Once/if that happens, I'll unload with both barrels.

Couldn't you just make a sock account? I know such things are frowned upon, but that's usually because socks are usually used to spam boards or cirvumvent bans. You'd obviously not be doing that...

Well, you have to actually *ask* (via PM) an admin to do that. I imagine they will.

But, everyone will call you scates anyway, ya know?

PS - Ike is 25, Taylor 23, and Zack is 20 and is getting married. The other two are already married. Taylor got married when he was 18 and now has two kids. I just read all this a few minutes ago at their website, which I stumbled across while googling for a pic.

heh

No, I don't, actually.

But just 'look' at Taylor's face in this pic! My gawd!

(Oh, and Kick, I'm a grown-up girl now, and don't actually have posters of rock/pop stars on my bedroom walls. )

Yesterday one of the professors at my work bought a little $25 remote control plane. He brought a 6 pack of Belgian beer into my office and we got a nice buzz going before flying the plane at people's windows on the other side of the courtyard.

I've been in my hell of a job for way too long. I had another thread about it some where around here but it's all over in a short 2 weeks and 2 days! Now I go into work when I want and leave when I want. Some days, I'll even just play some DS. Hey, they wanted me to stick around until the new post-doc could start. I would have left in Jan. if were up to me...

I am in the middle of changing careers right now, and getting to where I want to be is testing me some days. I really wasn't doing as well as I would have liked so I applied to go back to school not knowing if I was serious about it. I got an acceptance letter as I was packing to go away for a long weekend and the date to reply was before I would have been back. I accepted, walked out of the door and took one of my old jobs back. Man does that hurt.

Last week I was at work from 8 AM until 10 PM most days. The work is boring, the money isn't good and the atmosphere is very intolerant to just about every group of people. At least it is flexible during the school year and I have an internet connection.

Well that and I feel like I'll get a chance to do it my way one day. To second chances.

I with you pscates2.0, picking our real names was kind of dumb.

Man, I love my work environment. I work at the neighborhood natural foods cooperative. It's great. Cool co-workers (I'm a cashier), nice bosses, good pay, air-conditioning and decent music over the stereo. I was down by the offices today, and heard the HR person listening to the new (er, a year old now) Gorillaz CD. Just cool and laid-back in general.

Damn I love my work.
