So I got a new 160GB Intel SSD and am moving to it from my 500GB drive. I have been trying to keep this clean as I can. So now I want to migrate my Mail.app accounts and messages. Where are they? I just want to move the Mail files from my old HDD to my SSD and so when I open Mail on my SSD it looks and operates just like my HDD version.

~/Library/Application Support/Mail ← probably unnecessary; appears to be used only for web mail easy sign-up information
~/Library/Mail ← essential! Contains actual mailbox contents, signatures, smart mailboxes, bundles (Mail plug-ins, if any), etc. ~/Library/Mail Downloads ← if you have downloaded attachments, they'll be here ~/Library/Preferences/ByHost/com.apple.mail.<Host ID>.plist ← appears to be used only for iTunes iOS device notes sync ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist ← essential! contains which accounts you have set up, as well as tons of other settings Copy those, and you should be fine. |
