Look. Self-masturbatory content aside, that was a thoughful, pretty well written post. If you could just keep that sort of thing up instead of acting like a fucking idiot you'd be more than welcome here.

So it goes.

Never said I was perfect.
Never said I was a genius

I'm not perfect, I'm not a genius. I know my faults, I'm not a strong speller, I don't know all the rules of grammar and punctuation, but I do try. It's hard for me to listen to someone say that they are a genius when they don't know that genius should not be capitalized in that situation. I'm not stupid, does that mean I have perfect grammar, no, but I'm not stupid.

I never called him stupid either, I didn't insult him. I don't doubt that he's a bright kid, but I don't think his genius has quite reached the levels that he thinks it has.

imperfectly yours,

DMB

That's exactly what it was, take a look at some of my previous posts, I think you'll notice that I have a pretty good grasp on the English language, including the proper use of to, too, two, there, their, they're...etc.

Come waste your time with me

Stupid post must be longer than 3 characters rule. Why is that rule there in the first place?

DMB (and Robot - check your PM) - not saying that you said you were perfect ... just thought it ironic since you criticised his grammar and punctuation that you let that go.

Also, equating genius with either the ability to compose a symphony or post correctly on a message board is a moot point I think ... but that's only my opinion.

Anyway, the main thrust of this thread is that macgeek should be more resourceful when searching for answers and actually read the replies to the threads he starts. (In addition to cutting down on his inane banter from time to time).

Peace to all, though.

PS - DMB you stick to that "that's exactly what it was" line.

Okay. I only have one more think to say.

I admit that I behave like an idiot on these boards. I admit that I come across like a twelve year old. I admit that I don't behave like a genius here.

I can only tell you (and half of you will believe me, and half of you won't), that if any one of you met me in person you would never guess that I am macgeek2006.

That's just lame. Get your shit together and start adding some real content to your posts. I don't give a flying fuck how smart your mommy thinks you are. The proof is in the pudding, as 'scates would say.

So it goes.

Because you act stupid on these boards for some reason. If that is not the case, then stop acting like a tard and you won't be perceived as one. Surely your high IQ and magnificent social skills knows this.

Nah. I haven't written any symphonies, just one chamber opera and it was pretty much crap. I figure I'll get the hang of large forms on the second or third go around.

...of course if I were a 15 year old dork Genius™, maybe I would've nailed it the first time.

That's in the other "What is this movie?" thread...

Can we merge the threads so no one misses out on this comedy?

You've proved yourself a genius at at least one thing: making it waaaaaay to easy.

Murbot: I actually think that was the funniest response that you could have given in that situation. Nice work.

I'm not going to pound you since that seems to be taken care of already. Hey, you can at least enjoy the fact I haven't laughed this much in some time!

Anyway, the reason for my reply:
If you're not acting like you would in real life then quit posting as a moron. Be yourself here just like you should be in real life. If you acted like this around your band camp friends I'm sure they wouldn't hang around long. I'm having to teach my 11 year old daughter this right now. Be yourself. Be yourself. Here on this forum you should be no different then you are in person.

IF this is how you are in person, I would recommend you work on the communication skills a lot more. Your boss must have been feeding you a pile of crap.

Jeez... I leave for a week, and I miss all the fun.

So some random musings:
  • I fully respect your musical talent (loosely related to genius). Granted I am taking your boasting as representative of the truth.
  • As has already been stated, your laundry list of self-congratulatory remarks was both coherant and well thought out. Keep posting in a similar manner and you should be able to gain some postive reputation, rather than coming off as a petulant child.
  • The people on these forums come from a wide variety of backgrounds and levels of education, so don't be surprised that calling yourself a genuis and the rest of us stupid doesn't garner much respect.

To reiterate turtle's remarks: Be yourself. At least then we can respect you for what you are rather than what your posting portrays you as.
