Say I have included webspace from my ISP. I also have a registered domain main without any host service currently. Can I host my own website from that domain, and if so how do I set that up?
more specifically, my school offers me free webspace. That's where I want to host from. They have wicked fast servers and tons of bandwidth since its summer and it'll work beautifully if its possible. I primarily just want to play with iWeb, I suppose. It's very unlikely that your ISP or school will allow you to use a domain name (not "main") with its free space. You'll need to contact them directly about that because it requires making system-level changes on the server.
Some domain registrars, however, will allow you to fake it by hosting a small page with a single frame which links to a directory somewhere else. Or you could just whack a 301 or 302 on the site with the domain name attached, so that people navigating to it end up at your other site.
