A dutch consumershow investigated allegations that some XBOX360s were prone to scratching the discs the users inserted. Their research showed that because of the lack of shock-absorbing cushions, this indeed was the case. Microsoft initially put the fault with the consumers, but after thousands of reactions they finally admit that sometimes this can occur. Users in the Netherlands can call up and check with Microsoft if their XBOX is affected too. They can also call to sign-up for an exchange of the original discs.

Sorry I didn't provide a link, but they have this weird site, where you can't link through to the particular story. Also, I don't think the majority of users would understand dutch.
