I just got a Seagate 160GB 7200rpm harddrive. The default MacBook drive was 5400rpm, now that I have a 7200rpm drive installed; does that mean that the drive will run at 7200rpm speed?
Or will the controller in the MacBook will decrease the speed itself? I know it should be running at 7200rpm, I just wanted to be sure. Thanks |

Let us know if the performance increases noticeably with this upgrade once you've installed it, this sounds like something I would like to try in the future.

Definitely an increase in performance, but I also upgraded the memory to 4GB along with the faster harddrive, so... yeah, I'm happy!
