Is it possible for a username to be changed?

I want a new name but I wanna keep my postcount and my rep.

That being said, here's a bit of a formal bit on username changes.

For the most part, we don't like to change people's usernames without a good reason. Specifically because we don't have avatars at this site, usernames are more important than some message boards.

However, there are some circumstances where name changes are allowed. Some examples.

1. User accidently users their e-mail address by accident instead of a username.

2. User name is too long and it screws up the message board formatting

3. A user with a bad rep. wants another shot. (see quagmire/undertaker)

How many posts do you need to change the name under your name (change from "Registered user" to something else). I dont really need to change it right now, but i was just curious... (there is a number of posts you need before you get that privilage right?)

Some "earn" that distinction early usually by doing something stupid. It doesn't happen often, but if you ask people like windowsrookie, he'll fill you in.
