So, I've been fully expecting the next powerbook upgrade to be the frequently mentioned "7447b"

Every cynic on the internet tells us that its a shoein for this next powerbook...


Funny thing is... I can't find a single official Freescale document about it..
I've been trying, believe you me..

Freescale's website doesn't have it listed anywhere, in any form....


So, what's the deal? Does it even exist?



Now, therefore I was wondering if folks here could help me try and find these documents of dubious existence.

(Note: Mods, I know there are topics about the Powerbook already, but this is not powerbook speculation, really. If you disagree, I understand.)

Well, isn't that what you see HERE

If you zoom it, you see the part no MC7447BHX1420QD, which you can find from the above linked Freescale document, ie. the 1.42 GHz Mac Mini processor.

It's interessting that Freescale is showing that they have certified 7447/B parts at 1.67 GHz.

Yeah, if I remember correctly, they continued to report in their internal documentation that the highest clocked G4 available was 1.25 GHz even after tha 1.42 GHz G4 came out in early 2003. So the next PowerBooks will probably be 1.67 GHz... but there's always the possibility of a little more...
