Jesus Burbs, I don't know what to say. That's awful news. I really hope things turn around for you, like YESTERDAY.

Fucking doctors. That's just unbelievable.

Surgery set for Wed morning (GMT)... Surgeon has apparently cleared his schedule.

Hoping he'll agree to film it for future pointing and singing na na hey hey cancer buh bye...

Will have iphone with me to check in during recovery, but may be doped up for a few days and suck at typing post-op.

All those who believe in telekinesis, raise my hand.

Annihilate it 'burb. Destroy every fibre of its being. Thinking of you and I'll say a prayer too.

You're beating this, Burbs.

You are in everyone's thoughts and prayers this week. Time to put a 99 mph one-timer across the bridge of cancer's nose.

...into the light of a dark black night.

10 hrs until surgery.

Filming probably out. Rather have surgeon in charge than some wannabe director.
But if they offer a cute fluffer...

Anæsthetist says no epidural this time, but lots of local and some general, then morphine pump (diy) after.

Hopefully my last few hrs with cancer, insh'Allah / FSM willing.

Wishing you the very best for your surgery. I'm sure everything will go well and that you will be feeling better in no time. Try not to have 'too' much fun with the morphine pump.

Freakin' awesome to see you're up and alert already (alert enough to post here is pretty good after a mondo-surgery!). Hang in there, Von Burbonator!

Glad to hear all is good so far. No how about that little "c"? Maybe premature, but I'm believing that you are cancer free.

I'm pretty sure that per biblical record that means you are entitled to five, hot naked women.

At least that is how Adam made out on the rib deal. One per rib seems the historic trade.

Igor ( pronounced Eye-gor, Polish origin ) and Surgeon ( Tasmanian origin ) denied requests for Biblical constructs or mysterious Mexican wakeup. But they confirmed removal of slab of 5 ribs in section under armpit, a small shaving of involved brachial nerve, and a bit of lung and pleura until they saw normal tissue. Relevant bits off to pathology to check margins.

Went through old scar, but extended it to spine and under arm. No staples this time, and 2 of 3 drains out already, so early escape looking more likely than month long stay. Yay!

Got iPhone pic, but may wait until home to send.

Opiate pump doesn't compensate for dire hospital food, but I won't complain if paths report clear.

Funny (or not!) about the food. I trust you have family or friends (or Chinese delivery) to peel you some fresh fruit or serve up a tin box full of crab meat stuffed chicken wings. Or a fresh Pizza Margherita. I had the opposite experience with the hospital where my wee ones arrived: the food was so good that my wife would book me a dinner each night (and they let you stay for 4 nights!). House-made cordon bleu, frites, salad, fresh tomatoes, half a bottle of cold burgundy, no dishes/washing up .... Ummm, sorry.

Be well!
