Ok, I had a problem when I bought a mini-dvi to pci cable & posted it on here because the screens wouldn't match up...well now I replaced that with the mini-dvi to hdmi & the picture is perfect! One problem...I can't transfer sound from my iMac to my Samsung plasma...the only port in the back for sound 3.5mm jack is right next to the PCI port & I can only assume that they are connected. Any advice?

There's no RCA jacks (red and white) next to the HDMI port?

Also, I have no idea what a "PCI port" is. Motherboards have PCI slots, but TVs and monitors...don't. Are you sure you're not talking about VGA or DVI?

and i guess i've known it all along / the truth is, you have to be soft to be strong

Just a dumb question, but have you tried using the 3.5 mm jack?

On some tv's when you have the picture up through the HDMI you can open up the menu and select which input you want to use for audio.

I hadn't thought of that...I'll check the menus for that

A HDMI cable delivers sound too, you are gonna need something like this.

No, the connector is a mini-dvi to hdmi...I'd have to get a mini-dvi to dvi to have that one work.

If your television doesn't have the option of taking video from one set of inputs and audio from another, you'll probably have to get something like this and plug it in the RCA jacks that go with the HDMI port.

Just out of curiosity, what do you mean by the screens not "matching up" when you used VGA?

If you look at my other post you'll see the issue I used to have that has been corrected by the HDMI.
